This is what happens when I sketch without thinking.
Not much explanation for this sketch really. I am having major difficulties staying focused...MAJOR difficulties!! So I finally decided to sit down and do something I haven't done in a while....sketch in a sketch book. This is the first thing that came out.

The Artistically Frustrated Poem
It's tough to decide what art to make next.
Maybe some clarity will come with this text.
From painting, to sewing, to hand sculpting clay,
and the list just goes on, its a very wide array.
So I sit down in my studio and start something new.
And soon in my head there are more ideas too.
Almost like seeing lots of things at a mall.
Feeling undecided, you get nothing at all.
I can't seem to focus on anything for long.
More ideas keep coming and soon time is gone.
Tonight I sure wish that I had me a guide
to hold me in place and to help me decide.

Craft night with Grace
Being creative every day is a really fun job but after a while I have a tendency to feel like my work is getting "stale." I invited a gal pal of mine over, 11 year old Grace for a fun night of crafting. Not only did we get to catch up, but I gained a refreshing sense of inspiration. And I think in the end Grace had fun too :)
We made fun little figurines out of clay to turn into magnets. I loved the idea of brightening up my refrigerator and Grace was excited to have something new for her bedroom.
After sculpting Grace popped our pieces in the oven to bake. Then we put in a movie while we waited.
After they were baked and cooled, it was time to paint. Grace made a turtle and peanut butter and jelly
....I think it was inspired by my beta fish, "Peanut Butter & Jelly"...he was watching us work.
My refrigerator looks much more fun and we had a blast doing it! :D

The Pressure
The pressure to make money.
The pressure to get better.
The pressure to be focused.
The pressure to be more creative.
Video for Joey Salamon
Today I am working on a commission piece for the artist Joey Salamon. It is a video to promote his work. Joey is a very talented friend of mine.

Etsy Treasury
Today I was working in final cut pro on some video stuff. Rendering video takes a long time and you have to wait for it to finish so I curated an etsy treasury. It was so fun. I foresee myself doing it a lot more often.

Directionally Challenged....but going somewhere....
There is so much going on around here it is hard to keep up with the blog posts! Funamals is doing well, but there are so many directions to go in, it can be overwhelming trying to decipher which way to go! I get too much going on in my head and then I just want to take a nap.
CUSTOM Pet Portraits are the new hot item around here. I've been busy doing those. I finally stopped to work on making a promotional for them to get professionally printed. Here is a preview of the design. I really love how it turned out and can't wait for it to get printed!
I'm also introducing CUSTOM Wedding Bouquet Paintings and Digital Stamps for Scrapbooking.
January is video month for Funamals so keep your eyes peeled for some fun videos and animations to pop up. I'm planning to do a promo for Minty Keen.
One of my biggest challenges has been trying to become and stay organized. I have not completely conquered this yet. I would love to hear your words of advice either here in the comments section or on my facebook page...(which tends to be more active than my blog).
Well that is today's update. Happy 2011. One of my New Year's resolutions is to be more active on my blog. I can feel that coming on for sure, but it is always easier when you know people are actually reading, so invite your friends!
